- ½ cup of warm water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 ¼ teaspoons of active dry yeast
- 4 tablespoons of your favorite O-Live & Co. olive oil
- 2 ½ cups of all purpose flour
Directions for the Homemade Olive Bread Recipe
Step 1: Start by mixing warm water, salt, active dry yeast, and olive oil in a large mixing bowl. Once these ingredients have been mixed thoroughly, stir in two cups of flour until you are able to form the ingredients into a ball. This ball should be soft but not necessarily sticky. If your dough is of a stickier consistency, simply knead in a little more flour until it forms the desired texture. Knead your dough before transferring to a greased bowl of medium size.
Step 2: Cover your dough and let it rise until it is roughly doubled in size.
Step 3: Punch down your dough until it is easy to form and then roll it into either a ball or loaf shape. This is dependent on whether you will be making an olive oil roll or an olive oil bread loaf. Place your dough onto a pre-greased cookie sheet.
Step 4: Cover your dough and let it rise for roughly 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 5: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Step 6: Once your oven is fully heated to 375 degrees, bake your bread for 30 to 40 minutes. By the end of baketime, your bread should be golden brown in color.
