Garlic and Bacon Green Beans

Green beans are a holiday time staple of every family dinner. They are delicious, healthy and there's tons of ways to prepare them. For this recipe, O-Live mixes our signature olive oil and bacon to make a delicious and savory holiday dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs fresh green beans rinsed, ends trimmed
  • 1/2 tsp. salt & pepper
  • tbs. O-Live olive oil
  • 6 minced garlic cloves
  • 6 cooked bacon strips, drained of fat, then chopped into smaller pieces

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of water bring enough water to boil to cover the green beans. Once the water is boiling, add the green beans with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cook for 5 minutes and then drain the beans. 
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of O-Live Everyday Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a skillet on medium heat. Add the minced garlic and stirr for about 30 seconds. Add the cooked, chopped bacon (which you have also drained of fat before) and the green beans. Saute on medium heat for about 1 minute to combine the ingredients. Remove from head, taste and add more salt and pepper if needed.
